The stay
How a day in Tapovan goes.
No schedule to keep. This is simply how most of our guests end up spending it.
Chai on the balcony
The valley wakes slowly. Tea comes up to your room or out on the terrace.
Breakfast
The kitchen opens. Breakfast is on us in Deluxe and Super Deluxe rooms.
Down to the Ganga
Short paths lead to the river; longer ones climb into the forest above Tapovan. Ask reception for a map.
The lounge
Books, board games and a long view of the river bend from the balcony lounge.
Aarti & supper
Walk down for the evening Ganga aarti, then come back to a slow supper. The restaurant serves till 11 PM.
A restaurant that keeps late hours.
Simple seasonal cooking with produce from nearby farms, served at shared tables. Breakfast is included with Deluxe and Super Deluxe rooms, and the kitchen stays open until eleven, so you can come back late from the ghats and still sit down to a hot meal.
A balcony for slow afternoons.
Books, board games and a view of the river bend below. It’s where solo travellers from the dorm meet families from the rooms, and where most plans for the next day get made.
The river below, the forest above.
Short paths lead down to the Ganga; longer trails climb into the hills above Tapovan. Reception keeps maps and woollen blankets and can point you to the right walk for the time you have.
