The forested hills around Tapovan hide several small waterfalls, each reachable in a half-day. They’re best from August to October, when the streams are full.
Neer Garh waterfall
The best known, a few kilometres from Laxman Jhula on the Badrinath road. A paved path climbs past a series of pools and cascades; there’s a small entry fee. Go in the morning on weekdays to avoid crowds.
Patna waterfall
On the Neelkanth road beyond Laxman Jhula, reached by a short forest walk from the road. It’s smaller and quieter, with a cave near the top.
Garud Chatti waterfall
Also on the way to Neelkanth, with a small temple near the start of the trail. Easy to combine with a visit to Neelkanth Mahadev.
